Installment Plans and Plan Ids

This reference lists the installment plans and Plan Ids available for Integrated POS. Plans and rules depend on country, acquirer configuration, and card brand.

What are installment plans

Installment plans define how a card payment is split into one or more charges. The automation system sends a PlanId (and optionally Installments, Interest, OperationMode) in the Sale or Pre-authorization request. The POS validates the plan against the card brand and commerce configuration. Invalid or unsupported plans are rejected, and the POS may prompt the operator on screen.

Plan and PlanId availability depend on terminal and commerce configuration. Invalid or unsupported combinations result in on-screen prompts or non-zero response codes. The automation system should handle these cases.

How PlanId works

Installments apply only to card payments. QR Code payments use the cardholder’s wallet installments.
Some brands require an alphanumeric plan to be specified for two or more installments. The description column notes where this applies.
If PlanId is plan_emisor or plan_emisor_accelerated and the merchant has “Plan Cuotas” enabled, the terminal response may return plan_getnet_simple in the PlanId field.

`plan_getnet_simple`	Visa, Master	Plan Cuotas — payment in two or more installments.
`plan_getnet_integral`	Visa, Master	Plan Getnet — installments with Getnet financing.
`plan_ahora`	Visa, Master, Amex	Cuota Simple — installments with government-set interest rate.
`cuotas`	Amex	Cuotas — general installment plan with a single installment.
`plan_n`	Amex	Plan N — payment in two or more installments.
`plan_amex`	Amex	Plan Amex — payment in two or more installments.

plan_ahora (Cuota Simple / Ahora) is an Argentine government-set installment program. It appears in this table because the plans are organized by card brand (Visa, Master, Amex), but it applies in Argentina.
