The Refund deeplink triggers the reversal flow for a previously completed transaction via App2App integration between the source application and the payment app installed on the terminal. This direct communication allows the reversal to be initiated automatically, without manual navigation. The App2App interaction ensures a seamless and secure process, returning a structured response to the source app for continued flow handling.

What is the difference

While both Refund and Cancellation reverse a transaction, they differ based on timing:

Cancellation (Same-Day / D+0)

  • Processed on the same day as the original transaction, before the daily cutoff time
  • Voids the transaction before settlement
  • Only full amounts allowed
  • Faster processing

Refund (Next-Day / D+1 or Later)

  • Processed after the transaction day or after the cutoff time
  • Transaction already settled through the card network
  • Full or partial amounts supported (subject to regional availability)
  • Takes longer to reflect in the customer’s account

Both operations use the same Deeplink URI (getnet://payment/v1/refund). The system determines the type based on the settlement state of the original transaction. Both require the original Authorization Code and Transaction Date.

Identifying the original transaction

To reverse a payment, you must locate the original transaction. Both operations need the authorization code printed as “AUT” on the original receipt, the date of the original transaction, and the amount to reverse. These values let the system match and reverse the correct transaction.

Printing Control: You can control receipt printing using the allowPrintCurrentTransaction parameter. Set it to false to receive raw receipt data in the response, allowing your app to handle printing. Set it to true (or omit it) to let the Getnet terminal handle receipt printing automatically.
