This guide explains how to connect an Integrated POS over a network using HTTP communication.

When to use the network connection

Use a network connection when:

  • The POS terminal and automation system are on the same local network
  • Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity is available
  • Flexible physical placement of devices is required

This is the most common connection model for Integrated POS deployments.

Before you begin

Before connecting via network, ensure that:

  • The POS terminal is powered on and configured for Integrated POS Mode
  • The terminal is reachable over the network
  • The Integrated POS library is available in your application
  • Firewall or network policies allow HTTP communication

Step 1: Create the HTTP Connector

To establish the connection, create a Connector using CreateHttp.

Example

Connector connector = Connector.CreateHttp("192.168.0.10");

At this point, the communication channel is initialized but the terminal has not yet been validated.

Step 2: Validate the terminal

Validate the terminal using the Polling command before executing any operation:

var pollingResult = connector.PollingAsync();

Proceed only if the Polling response indicates readiness.

Step 3: Execute operations

Once validated, the Connector can be used to execute operations such as:

  • Sale
  • Refund
  • GetReports

Operations are processed sequentially.

Step 4: Close the connection

After finishing all operations, close the Connector:

connector.Close();

The Connector instance cannot be reused after closure.

Network connection considerations

  • Network instability may require reconnection
  • Polling should be executed again after reconnecting
  • Setup parameters may affect reconnection behaviour
