# Prerequisites

Before running the SDK Demo App, confirm your machine and your terminal meet the requirements below.

## What you need

The list below covers your development machine and the terminal you will run the app on.

* **JDK 21** installed. The project compiles only with this version.
* The **Android SDK Platform 36** installed, which the project compiles against (`compileSdk` 36).
* A certified Android POS terminal running **Android 8.0 (API 26)** or later, the project's `minSdk`. The app compiles and installs even without one, but the SDK's hardware flows — payment, refund, printing — only work on a physical terminal.
* The terminal's required services installed: **Platform** (`com.pagonxt.hal.platform`) and **Middleware** (`com.getnet.posdigital.service`). See [Add the SDK to Your Project](/en/getnet-toolbox/sdk-white-label/first-steps-sdk/add-the-sdk) to install them.

## Run without building

You can try the demo app without setting up the JDK or building the project. Install the pre-built APK delivered in the toolkit under `apks/`. This path skips the build and still gives you a fully functional app.

Install it, then open the **Apolo DevKit** app — that is its label on the terminal:

```
